Spurs's Doncic Laser-Focused on the Post-Season

SAN ANTONIO, TX - Though it's only November, Spurs superstar guard Luka Doncic told NBN Today his stellar performance so far this season doesn't distract him from his ultimate goal: going into the 2025 post-season with a season-ending injury. "I'm not thinking about regular season stats or winning my second MVP right now," he shared. "I just have one goal this year, and it's to take this team to the Playoffs and then immediately hurt myself." The former Maverick achieved a season-ending injury in the days leading up to the 2022 Playoffs, in what would be his last season with the franchise. The next year, 13 minutes into Game 1 in the Spurs' first-round match-up against Houston, Doncic was able to acquire an injury once again, sidelining himself for the remainder of the post-season. If he is able to repeat the feat for the third season, he would become the first player in NBN history to destroy his team's hopes and dreams three years in a row....

Stats Power Rankings 11/24/2024

SGA and Ja Morant have led their teams to big weeks. These are changes since 11/13. Notables * The Bucks and Nets continue to establish themselves as the best teams in the league. The two teams have ranked in the top 2 spots every day since November 3rd. And that's with the Bucks record being 8-7. Their 35-point win over Cleveland back on 11/4 probably goes a long way to boost their rank. * The Spurs are on a heater, winning their last 7. Luka has averaged 20/10/9 over those games. They've risen 5 spots to #5 and are now the second-ranked team in the West. * Still competing in the middle of the pack, but Memphis and Oklahoma City have seen big bumps as well, rising 7 and 8 spots to #11 and #12, respectively. The two teams have combined for a 7-2 record since the last power rankings. * The Denver Nuggets have fallen 6 spots to now stand at #20, thanks to losses to the Pels and the Mavs . * The stats also love the Celtics and the Knicks . Despite both teams having records close t...

Nobody Cares That Jabari Smith Jr. Is Out 4-6 Weeks

Eyewitnesses attest that Jabari Smith Jr. may have been carried off in a stretcher such as this one. CHICAGO, IL - Bulls forward Jabari Smith Jr. seemed dejected after Chicago's emphatic win over the Rockets yesterday afternoon. "It's like they all forgot about me," he could be heard wailing in the Bulls locker room as the facility shut down for the night. Smith suffered a fracture seven minutes into the game against Houston, which is set to sideline him up to six weeks during a critical time for the Bulls to establish themselves in the East. In another game, mere moments after Smith was helped off the floor, Atlanta Hawks guard Cade Cunningham sprained his ankle on a closeout against the Trail Blazers, and also expects a long timetable to return.  Unfortunately for Smith, while Cunningham's injury sent murmurs through the league and sparked snide comments and well-wishes alike from millions of people, no news outlet or insider even mentioned Smith's injury un...

Stats Power Rankings 11/13/2024

Notable Risers * The Suns (+5)  rise to the top of the West and the 4th spot overall after wins against Dallas, Utah, and two wins against the Kings. They probably got more credit than they should for beating a Jazz team that's without Mitchell, but have fully recovered from an early loss to Dallas that remains their only loss to date.  * The Bulls (+8) have quickly established themselves as a competitor in the East with a laudable 9-2 record. They beat Dallas, a surprise Atlanta team, the Cavs, and the Knicks to earn 7th place in this week's rankings.  * The 8th-place  Knicks (+8) , despite losing to the Bulls, have picked up some impressive wins themselves, including a 22-point win over Indiana and a 33-point win over the Bucks.  * The Cavaliers (+11)  got off to a shaky start this season but blew out New Orleans and the Warriors in back-to-back games. They are still dropping games for some reason, but the advanced stats say things might turn around. For ...

Pacers Owner Could Have Sworn He Cut Tobias Harris 3 Years Ago

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Pacers owner Kid Monotone did a double-take when passing the practice facility weight room and catching a glimpse of forward Tobias Harris doing dumbbell presses.  "I was absolutely shocked," Monotone said in an exclusive interview with NBN Today. "I spit out my green drink and got it all over my Lacoste polo." Despite being a regular visitor at the facility, the longtime owner said he had no idea Tobias Harris was still on his team.  "I mean, we've dropped out of the playoffs early year after year," he lamented, exasperated. "Do you think I've been willingly paying Tobias Harris a max contract this whole time??" According to Monotone, he made the decision to void Harris's contract back in 2021, mere months after acquiring the forward from the Kings.  "He's an absolute scrub. You see it here, you see it in the NBA. He shouldn't sniff playing time on a team that wants to make a playoff push. I swear to G...

Isaiah Hartenstein Believes He Can Start: "I feel like I'm being gaslit

The only known image of Hartenstein participating in pre-game warmups. CLEVELAND, OH - Cavaliers big man Isaiah Hartenstein expressed discomfort in a post-game interview last Sunday, describing a growing, nagging feeling that his own potential was being hidden from him. "I don't know, I just feel like I wasn't born to be an end-of-rotation player," the 7-footer lamented after playing 17 minutes in a loss against Milwaukee. "I can't describe it, there's just something in the back of my head that tells me somewhere out there, there's a parallel universe where I'm starting for one of the best teams in the league." When reached for comment, Cavs owner Killerdawg7 was quick to say that Hartenstein is flat out not ready for such a role.  "We tell him every day after practice, you are living in a fantasy world. Look, we all love Isaiah in this organization. But he is a role player at best, and that's that." Hartenstein described how he...

CITYWIDE “RIOT” IN INGLEWOOD AS CLIPPERS FALL TO 0-10

BREAKING: Chaos in Inglewood tonight as fans of the Los Angeles Clippers rioted across the city following the blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors. A chaotic sight, the mob of fans totalled nearly eight people, and has caused $27 dollars in property damage and counting, having tipped over several trash cans and halfheartedly attempting to flip a car for around 20 minutes. City officials expressed shock and confusion at the action, with Mayor James Butts quoted as saying that he “honestly forgot that the team was playing here now. They have fans? People pay to watch them? I assumed that this was just like a city-wide prank that we were playing on the players.” In addition, the crowd was also seen attempting to raise funds to erect a “Sell the Team” billboard, passing around a hat to each of the rioters. A brief altercation nearly erupted after accusations that the hat had less money at the start than the end, only stopping after the group was mocked by a gaggle of roaming teenagers...
