One Man Lakers FO Spotted Asking for a Hug as Recent Success Goes Unnoticed

Note: Lyrics, quotes, names have all been edited to avoid DMs about family and personal life from disgruntled individuals.

Know that these people might judge

But f**k it, you family to us

So come over here and give me some love

Yeah, give me a hug

I miss you h**s, give me a hug

Give me a hug, give me a hug

What can I say? I miss you girls, I'm stuck in my ways

N** C***s, K****r, B**n, T**e W****d, S**u, y'all gotta come to the stage

Ridiculed by many, recognized by none. Those are the sentiments in the halls of Staples Arena as lone FO member RJ was spotted asking Avatar for a hug as the Lakers continue an impressive run of 26-4 in their last 30 games.

How did we get to this point? Lakers owner RJ takes us down a trip to memory lane. He has kept receipts since the beginning of time:

“They bashed me when I drafted Coulibaly couple years ago like 7th overall, then I forgave them.”

I, too, forgive them. Coulibaly did some great things for my fantasy team this year.

“Prior to 2023-2024 season they bashed and said I’d be bottom tier team, we made play-in, I forgave them.”

Breaking up with Cheppy_Wire and the New York Knicks was a questionable move at the time given the Knicks success. But, to be great, you have to break away from the norm and set your own stage. Lakers Owner RJ set out to do just that and was able to make instant impact on the Lakers by turning them into a Play-in team. “F*ck, shoutout Cheppy too.” - RJ

“ Last offseason I signed Draymond, they bashed me, dudes were congratulating JD (he owns my pick) on getting Cooper in advance. Fast forward to now, I’m on 24-6 run, currently in 8th seed and nobody talking about it. Everybody is Mr. Bean all of a sudden, they can keep quiet it’s fine but I don’t want to hear anymore bashing moving forward when it comes to the lakers organization. I had a plan from day one to shed bad salary, rebuild through the draft, add young pieces to my core and try to build a strong defensive team and I’ve done just that.”

We took this time to go back and look at some of the biggest haters of the Lakers decision making. We start with one owner on the northern side of the continent:

“** getting cooper flagg. Proud of you buddy” “The Lakers suck” “and that lakers pick could be cooper flagg”

NBN Content Committee (NBNCC) reached out to the “king” of the North for follow up commentary. They had this to say:

“I love hanging banners for regular season success. Me personally I wouldn’t be trolling too hard if my best player is Dejounte Murray but I’m happy for them.”

Interesting words from a bottom feeder team in the East despite having two players above 85 overall. Investigate this owner for intentional tanking.

Nonetheless, we move on. To an owner who appears to have walked back on prior sentiments and indirectly recognized the success of the Lakers organization. Going from “The Lakers suck” and “Lakers 2025 first is off the table”, NBNCC reached out to this owner who was spotted laughing and breathing a huge sigh of relief as he shouted “Glad I traded the pick.”

One point for the Lakers. But they quickly sink the second free throw for their second point as a Western Conference rival known to have recreated the famous “Superteam” meme with the Lakers roster walked back on his hate with this quote: “Well i didn't realize that they would also have spurms legend djm and future goat Ajay mitchell”

We move on to a prestigious and well respected owner in the league. Seen saying things such as “Your pick will be lottery once again” and “Couldn’t be more sure.” NBNCC reached out to this owner and he states that he has kept a closer eye than the Lakers owner gives him credit for. However, his success is more of a result of the incompetence in the league according to this particular owner.

“I have been following their rise over the last two month, and I will admit they have improved. But they have improved playing like a lotto team to playing like a play-in teams and are walking around like they bagged a 10/10. And let’s not forgot that their competition is D***h (brainwashed), J***y (sheep), and whoever the h*ll took over for GSW that got their trade vetoed within 24 hours cuz they don’t know ball. They also have yet to prove anything at all in playoff ball (stream games).”

That is where we find ourselves as the 2024-2025 NBN regular season is coming to a close. It remains to be seen if the Lakers organization may have jumped the gun by calling out their haters before making it past the Play-in stage. One thing about this league, everyone keeps receipts. What was already a target on their back may have exponentially increased over the last few days as other members of the league have been reported to be salivating and foaming at the mouth awaiting the Lakers downfall. “A Roast Session like this hasn’t been present in ages so I know people are paying attention now” one owner in the West tells NBNCC. Another owner in the West seems to be praying to humble the Lakers stating: “lol talk your sh*t bro but I'm praying I get to see your a** in round 1”

Stay tuned as we continue to follow the Lakers vs the NBN rivalry. In closing, RJ had these final words to say: “Also please shout out my dawg AK41, we built this together so I don’t want to forget him.”

NBN Trade Deadline Grades by NotChris

This year’s trade deadline failed to reach the heights of its IRL counterpart, but how could it? That’s like comparing Beyonce to a 35-year-old soccer mom. Sure, soccer moms can be fun and a little wild. But it’s Beyonce , man.  There were some big names moved, but teams improved around the margins more than anything at the deadline. Many bigger moves were made much earlier in the year. Here, I will focus on breaking down the deadline-adjacent trades, starting with… Trade 59: WAS receives: Khris Middleton, Victor Oladipo, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2026 LAC 2nd MIL receives: James Harden Milwaukee: A- This deal makes a ton of sense for Milwaukee. They’re a middling team at the moment, sitting a hair above the play-in. They have been relying way too much on Oladipo for years and were playing him out of position at point guard. Replacing him with Harden (an actual PG) should do wonders for the Milwaukee offense.  Harden obviously isn’t the player he once was. However, he is still a gr...

Not Chris 2025 NBN Mock Draft

Welcome to my 2025 NBN Mock Draft, which will definitely be outdated by the time I publish it! Not projecting any trades because teams are crazy and too hard to predict. TLDR at bottom.  1. Houston Rockets - Cooper Flagg, F, Duke No brainer here. Flagg is by far the best player in this draft, and one of the best prospects we’ve seen in the last 10 years. Houston’s tank paid off, and they get a do-it-all forward with a Jordan-esque competitive drive to build around.  2. Charlotte Hornets - Dylan Harper, G, Rutgers Charlotte pulled a stunner earlier this week, trading picks 5, 6, and Zach Edey to Dallas for the #2 pick, where they will likely select Dylan Harper. Harper is a 6’6 intelligent guard with All-Star upside. He will pair nicely with Paolo Banchero as another dynamic playmaker with scoring punch, this time with more shooting upside. This move signals Charlotte’s intent to move off All-Star LaMelo Ball (who they sneakily gave up a lot for; Stephon Castle, Nik...

Stats Power Rankings 2/24

Curry and Tatum push their teams to new heights.  These are changes since 11/24. Notables * The Nets remain at the top of the power rankings, despite making no notable moves at the trade deadline. Are they right to sit on their laurels?  * The Sixers and, to a lesser extent, the Grizzlies have made jumps up the power rankings, thanks to the acquisitions of Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum. Can they dethrone some of the more entrenched contenders in their respective conferences? Full power rankings are below.  Format: Team (Record) [Change since last PR on 11/24] Brooklyn Nets (42-15)                        [0] Utah Jazz (40-17)                               [+1] Philadelphia 76ers (40-17)                 [+11] Phoenix Suns (41-16)              ...
